The Indian mobile network launched a social responsibility campaign to address the digital divide in India.
Aircel aims to address the three major pressing issues in our nation- unemployment, lack of education, degrading environment with its social responsibility program.
To address the employability issue, Aircel emphasizes on creating sustainable opportunities for underprivileged youth by providing them vocational skills like sales techniques, customer relationships, hospitality, etc. After the youth is skilled, they can successfully secure sustainable livelihood opportunities. To address the digital divide in India, Aircel conceptualized Aircel a+ campaign. The purpose of this project is to provide the computer to children from underprivileged backgrounds. The Microsoft ULIP is taught to the children and youth to empower them with good computer operational knowledge. The Aircel’s project for the environment is called ‘Save Our Tiger’, and it aims to create awareness of the plight of this splendid beast and the efforts to save it.
