Tiruchirappalli is located in Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of Tiruchirappalli District. On the map, Tiruchirappalli sits at the confluence of two major National Highways—NH 45 and NH 67.

According to the National Urban Sanitation Policy (2010), Tiruchirappalli was one of the ten cleanest cities in India. It also has great education facilities including the IIM. Tiruchirappalli experiences a tropical savanna climate- with no major change in temperature between summer and winter. Its official language is Tamil but there are significant numbers of Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi speakers
Tiruchirappalli Junction is the second biggest railway station in Tamil Nadu and one of the busiest in India. Tiruchirappalli is served by Tiruchirappalli International Airport.
